Finally one built for mature lashes

Lashes your 20-year-old self would envy.

If you've spent years watching your lashes grow thinner, you've probably been blaming the wrong thing. Here you'll read what's really behind it — and why you no longer have to choose between hold and gentleness.

Two coats. Three coats. And still less than it used to be.

A mature eye with natural lashes, honest and unretouched

You know that moment in front of the mirror. One coat of mascara used to be enough, and your eyes were there. Now you go over them again, build up, work your way forward lash by lash, and when you're done, it still looks like less than it did back then.

At some point comes the thought so many women have, and hardly any says out loud: That's just age.

It's an understandable thought. It just isn't quite true. Look at what your mascara does in one single, perfectly ordinary day. There are two moments, and you know them both by heart.

Moment one · 3:00 pm

By 3 pm it's sitting under your eyes. And “waterproof” has never stopped it.

The quick glance into your phone camera. The careful wipe with a knuckle. The cotton swab in the side pocket of your handbag. You've built routines around something that shouldn't be happening at all: black smudges under the eye, a gray shadow on the lid. Panda eyes, in the middle of the day.

And you've long tried everything, including the tube stamped waterproof. It made taking your makeup off tougher. It didn't save your afternoon.

The reason is simple: Waterproof protects against water. But your mascara rarely travels because of water. It travels because skin oils and eye creams dissolve the film over the day. Because your lid sweeps across your lashes a thousand times as you blink — with hooded eyes, that alone is enough to press the mascara onto your upper lid. Because eyes water more often as the years go by. Against all of that, hardness does nothing, it just flakes off in finer crumbs.

Hard is not the same as holding.

Why that matters, you'll see in a moment.

Moment two · 10:47 pm, your bathroom

The two or three little hairs on your cotton pad are no coincidence.

Cotton pad after removing makeup: color and two or three tiny hairs

All you want is to get to bed. So: remover onto the pad, press it against the eye, wait. Then rub. Go back in. Rub once more, harder this time, because something always clings to the lash line.

And when you look at the pad, there are black streaks. In between, with quiet regularity: two or three tiny hairs.

Maybe you never noticed them, because nobody studies her cotton pad. Maybe you've even counted them once and wondered whether that's normal.

The answer women get: all normal. Shedding that simply comes with it, like the hairs in your brush. Yet behind it sits a question almost nobody asks:

Why does mascara only come off by force?

In case you thought it was just you

Thousands of women are typing this into their search bar right now.

mascara smudges even though waterproof
eyelashes thinning what to do
mascara smudges hooded eyes
best mascara for over 40

These aren't invented examples. They're the suggestions the search engine offers on its own. Behind them are always the same two questions: Why won't it stay put? And: Where did my lashes go?

Both questions share one answer. It's written in a place you would never have looked: on the back of your mascara.

The hold in your mascara is liquid plastic. Literally.

A conventional mascara, turned around: the fine print on the back

Turn a conventional mascara around and read the ingredient list. Fairly high up you'll find words like Acrylates Copolymer, Styrene or silicone compounds with names nobody can pronounce.

Acrylates CopolymerStyrene/Acrylates CopolymerDimethicone

Three typical film formers in classic mascaras. At least one is probably on yours.

These are synthetic film formers. At their core: liquid plastic. As you apply, it wraps around every single lash and hardens there into a rigid little tube.

That's its job. The plastic film is the promise on the tube: hold through hardness. How well that works by mid-afternoon, you know yourself. And it's the reason for two more things no package says a word about.

First: The film is rigid. A lash wants to bend, a hundred times a day, with every blink. Inside a rigid shell, bending turns into risk of breaking.

Second: The film seals. Under the plastic coating, the little hair dries out and turns brittle. And a brittle lash snaps exactly when you tug at the cotton pad at night.

Hard is not the same as holding, remember. And exactly this hardness is what costs you the little hairs on your pad at night.

The cycle nobody names

The better it holds, the more it takes from you.

In the morning

The plastic film keeps your mascara in place. That's why you love it.

All day long

Under the sealed film, the lash dries out. Week by week, it grows more brittle.

At night

Removing your makeup, you rub against the hold. Individual hairs break. You see them on your cotton pad.

The months after

A broken lash takes months to be replaced. Your upper lid only has about 150 of them.

And then

Finer lashes need more mascara. More mascara means more film, more rubbing, more little hairs on the pad.

On top of that: from your mid-thirties on, lashes slowly grow finer all by themselves, like any hair, and around menopause often noticeably faster. Precisely in the years when you start applying more, a mascara that works against your lashes is the one thing you can least afford.

Your age is less to blame than you think. Your mascara has been working on your lashes every day for twenty years. Just, unfortunately, against them.

Which also means: your lashes aren't simply gone. They come back once nothing is working against them anymore.

The self-test

Four questions for your bathroom.

Whether you checked one box or four: the same cause sits behind all of them. No mascara has solved it so far — why, you're about to read.

Natural mascaras leave out the plastic. And lose the afternoon in return.

A scale: holds, but hard — gentle, but smudges

Maybe you tried it long ago. A mascara from the health food store, one with a green promise on the box. It really does leave out the plastic, and it means it honestly.

Except: without film formers, the hold is missing. By 3 pm it's under your eyes, on the way home it flakes, and the next morning you reach for the old tube again. Simply giving up mascara is no real option: over the years, many women let go of almost everything else, eyeshadow, eyeliner. The mascara stays. Without it, the face feels naked. In the reviews of these products, the same word appears a hundred times over, and it's the word of the afternoon: panda eyes.

So this was the choice until now: Either it holds, or it's gentle. With mascara, this compromise was always treated as settled. We wanted to know whether it has to be.

A word from Marie
Messages from customer service: where this mascara began

It all began with your messages. For years, we've been reading the same two questions in customer service: “What do I put over the lash & brow treatment in the morning without undoing everything again at night?” And: “Is there finally a natural mascara that actually lasts until evening?” At some point, you stop replying that no such product exists. And start building it.

That was a good two years ago. From every side we heard: Hold without synthetic film formers, it can't be done, that's why nobody does it. We kept going anyway, because I wanted a mascara I could put on my own mother's bathroom shelf with a clear conscience.

What this mascara had to deliver was written on a note on our lab wall from day one. And if you look closely, that note is made of your sentences:

The brief

Four lines. For two years, the answer was: impossible.

1
Hold. Without plastic.

A film that sits on the lash until evening instead of under your eye, and stays flexible, so the lash stays bendable instead of brittle.

2
Nourish while you wear it.

The hours in mascara should be hours of care, with actives working underneath the film.

3
Come off at night without rubbing.

Warm water, gentle pressure, done. No remover, no tugging at the lash line.

4
Deep black. No ifs.

Volume and length, buildable, with a black that stands up to any classic mascara.

In the end, the solution was waiting where we at Plants are Purple always look first. In the plant world.

The mechanism

A film that holds like plastic. Except it bends.

In this formula, two plant-based film formers take over the job acrylates usually do:

Pullulan is created through fermentation and forms a whisper-thin, flexible film. You may know the principle from instant-lifting serums, where the same effect visibly firms the skin.

Galactoarabinan, sourced from the larch tree, reinforces this film and keeps it supple, so it lies evenly on the lash instead of gluing.

Together, that adds up to a hold that outlasts the day, while the lash underneath stays what it is: a little hair that's allowed to bend.

On the left, the principle of conventional film formers; on the right, ours.

And because this film doesn't seal, something can happen underneath it that's impossible in a classic mascara. Care that works while you wear it. More on that in a moment.

One detail first, before we move on: the first line of the ingredient list.

At the very top, there's no water. There's a flower.

Miracle Mascara next to a beaker of cornflower blossom water

The base of the formula: cornflower blossom water instead of water.

On almost every cosmetic product in the world, the ingredient list starts with Aqua. On this mascara, it starts with Centaurea Cyanus Flower Water: the blossom water of the cornflower.

For centuries, its blossom water has been laid on tired eyes as a compress; your grandmother probably still knew that. We built the entire formula on this blossom water.

And yes, you can guess it: The cornflower is purple. Of course it's purple. Time to show you what it's in.

May we introduce

Miracle Mascara. Infinite Lashes.

No product have you asked us about more often. A mascara with 98 % ingredients of natural origin (ISO 16128), vegan, deep black through mineral pigments. Free from silicones, PEGs, parabens, mineral oils and microplastic film formers.

We developed it expressly for mature lashes: for little hairs that have grown finer, need more care and tolerate less force. Whether it delivers what this page promises, long-time customers checked before you in an advance shipment — you'll see their feedback further down.

The bottle is aluminum: cool in the hand, pleasantly heavy. But the bottle is a side note. The real work happens where you can't see it — under the film, in every hour you wear it.

What works underneath the film

Eight hours of mascara. From now on: eight hours of care.

Because the plant-based film lets your lashes breathe, we could put into the formula what usually belongs in your lash serum:

Panthenol in a lab dish
Panthenol

Strengthens the lash and helps protect it from breaking off. The most important building block against the cycle.

A clear drop of hyaluronic acid on glass
Hyaluronic acid

Binds moisture to the little hair. The opposite of what a sealing plastic film does.

Grains of rice in a glass dish
Rice protein

Hydrolyzed, it wraps around the hair and lends visible body and fullness.

A golden drop of oil with almonds and jojoba seeds
Jojoba, almond & sunflower

Three oils that nourish and give the lash its shine back.

Centella leaf and rose petal
Centella Asiatica & rose

Calming and antioxidant, for the delicate zone where all of this takes place.

Cornflower next to the beaker of blossom water
Cornflower blossom water

The base of the whole formula. Position 1 on the ingredient list.

That's why it's called Infinite Lashes: every day you wear it is a day your lashes are nourished instead of sealed.

Which leaves the question you're rightly asking: how does something this gentle survive a long workday? The answer comes in three parts.

Infographic: what is the blossom film?
Why no other mascara can do this

Three mechanisms. They have never existed together.

Two of them you already know from this page. The third one is decisive: it's the reason the first two work together at all — and no mascara has had it before.

Mechanism 1
Hold that bends.

Pullulan and galactoarabinan form a film that sits all day and still follows every movement of the lash. Classic film formers can only do one of the two: they hold because they harden. And exactly that hardness breaks your lashes.

Mechanism 2
Nourishment underneath the film.

The blossom film is permeable. Panthenol, hyaluronic acid, rice protein and three oils reach the little hair and work there for as long as you wear the mascara. Under a sealing plastic film, care never even arrives, even if it's listed in the formula.

Mechanism 3
The warm-water release.

The film stands up to blinking, wind and a long day, but opens with warm water and gentle pressure. You take your makeup off without remover and without rubbing, and the little hairs that would otherwise land on your cotton pad survive.

No names. You'll recognize them anyway.

The honest comparison no mascara brand would print.

The gentle natural kind we covered further up: it's kind to your lashes, but it doesn't last. Which leaves the kind that's probably standing in your bathroom right now. The one with the iron grip.

First ingredientCornflower blossom waterwater

Compared with formulas typical of classic hold mascaras, with no reference to individual brands. Every ingredient list is worth a look; ours is published in full on the product page.

One row is missing from this table on purpose. It concerns the part we struggled with longer than the formula — and it isn't an ingredient.

We discarded more brushes than formulas. Here's the reason.

The greatest enemy of fine lashes: clumps. Four lashes glued together look like one, and suddenly the lash line looks sparse.

You know the usual suspects: brushes so thick they barely fit along the lower lid. Brushes that come out of the tube completely overloaded, so the first load lands on your lid instead of your lashes. That's why the cap holds a precisely molded brush with defined grooves instead of wild bristle chaos. It picks up color evenly and settles between every single hair, including the short ones at the roots that every thick brush skips. Every lash on its own: separated, lengthened, curved. No spider legs.

The brush at the eye: short grooves lift at the roots, defined tips lengthen

Two zones, one stroke: grooves lift at the roots, tips pull out the length.

And it's the reason you can layer: every lash stays separate, through coat one, two and three. One for the everyday, more for the evening.

And it's flexible. Most applicators are rigid rods, some by now even made of metal. Every unsteady movement presses straight onto your lid. This brush bends along, follows the curve of the eye and takes the pressure out before it arrives.

Especially once your lashes have grown finer, this brush makes the difference between “more mascara” and “more lashes”.

Nobody will ask which mascara this is. People will tell you that you look rested. The effect is the one others drive to the salon for every three weeks — except these are simply your lashes. The whole gaze looks younger, without anyone being able to say why. And you don't have to take our word for any of it: a little further down, an eye with and an eye without sit side by side, and you move the slider between them yourself.

Day one, week one, week four: what changes when.

Defined, separated lashes in a rich mineral black, plus length and fullness you can build coat by coat. No clumps, no spider legs, even at coat two and three.

In the mirror at night: the lashes are still in place
All day long

The blossom film sits. Office, summer day, long evening: no smudging, no flaking. Meanwhile, the care works on the little hair.

Removing makeup with warm water
At night

Warm water, gentle pressure, and it's gone. No remover, no tugging, and the only thing left on your cotton pad is color.

Supple, well-cared-for lashes in macro
After a few weeks

The little hairs that would have broken under the old rubbing are still there. That's the difference you'll eventually see in the mirror: your own lash line, complete.

For everyone who knows our lash & brow treatment

The serum cares at night. This is its counterpart for the day.

The question came from you: from the thousands who care for their lashes at night with the lash & brow treatment and didn't want to wreck it all again with the morning mascara.

For that one question, we developed the Miracle Mascara. The serum works on new growth at night; the mascara protects what you have during the day. For the first time, day and night work together instead of against each other.

And because this mascara grew out of your messages, it was clear to us who the very first tubes belonged to:

In the morning · 30 seconds
Start at the roots, zigzag out to the tips.

Place the brush at the base of your lashes and sweep out to the tips with small zigzag motions.

For the evening · coat two
Let it set briefly, then build.

Wait a few seconds, then apply the second coat like the first. The blossom film doesn't glue; every lash stays on its own. That takes you from everyday to evening, with no clumps and no spider legs.

At night · no rubbing
Warm water, gentle pressure, done.

The plant-based film dissolves with warm water and light pressure while you cleanse as usual. You don't need eye makeup remover, and you never have to tug at your lash line again.

An honest note

It is not waterproof. On purpose. Why “waterproof” never prevented panda eyes, you read above. In practice, the word only means: even more plastic and a remover that stings. Our blossom film stands up to tears of laughter, a warm day and a long evening. You get the hold of a big-name mascara, without the nightly rubbing.

In case you've only been scrolling: the short version.

Six Miracle Mascaras, bundled with a black ribbon

The packages are coming up in a moment. First, one thought that explains why two of them are so big. Sister, best friend, mother: lashes that have grown finer are rarely just one woman's story. On the 6-Pack and the 12-Pack, the price per tube is set so that the ribbon is almost the most expensive part of the gift.

We're giving you our beloved
lash & brow treatment, a €50 value.

lash & brow treatment
The free gift, briefly explained

By day you protect your lashes. By night you can rebuild them.

The lash & brow treatment, photographed floating

One more thing we need to explain, or the offer below won't quite make sense: the gift inside the big package.

The lash & brow treatment is our serum for the night: an invisible care film with a fine fiber brush, applied in one minute before sleep. Inside it work caffeine, which stimulates circulation around the hair root, biotin, which strengthens the hair and can reduce breakage, and the peptide Myristoyl Pentapeptide-17, which supports natural growth. Plus hyaluronic acid, panthenol and centella — the same family of care that works in the mascara by day.

Schematic illustration. Lashes renew in cycles of months — staying with it pays off.

And because with lash serums this is the question that matters most: It is completely free of hormonally active ingredients. The road to fuller lashes here runs through care and nourishment, not hormones.

That's why it comes as a gift with the 12-Pack. And if you'd rather start small, you'll find the two of them below as a fixed set.

Why the launch price will stay a one-time thing.

Why 50 percent? Because the Magic Foundation and the Pro-Aging Super Serum taught us: whoever tests the first batch and loves it stays for years. That's worth this price to us. So the first batch gets terms nobody will see again afterwards. From Saturday, August 1, the regular price applies, without launch packages and without big volume discounts.

For perspective: The first batch is 4,500 tubes. That sounds like a lot. Our last three first runs still each sold out before the Friday.

And if you're currently adding up what beautiful lashes cost you per year, we're happy to do the math with you:

Lash extensions at the salon

A full set plus refills every three to four weeks, €45 to €90 per appointment depending on where you live. Yearly cost: €600 to €1,200. On top of that: your own lashes suffer for it.

Premium mascara plus a separate lash serum

A conventional luxury mascara (€30 to €45, two a year) plus a separate care serum (€35 to €60). Yearly cost: €100 to €150. And the mascara keeps working against your lashes. By the way: exactly this combination exists here as a fixed set, the Miracle Lash Duo, for €69.99.

Miracle Mascara in the 6+6 pack

Two tubes a year, color and care in one step, and the lash & brow treatment comes on top as a gift. Yearly cost: €28. Twelve tubes: you're covered for years and have six very good gifts in the cupboard.

For twelve months, the risk sits with us. Not with you.

You test it in everyday life; we vouch for it. Up to 12 months, 100% money-back.

A mascara only shows what it can do in everyday life. In the office mid-afternoon, at the restaurant at night, and at the latest on your cotton pad. So that's exactly the time you get, risk-free:

3-Pack3 months money-back
6-Pack6 months money-back
6 + 6 free: the year pack12 months money-back

Our threefold promise:

Money-back guarantee: You're not thrilled? Full refund.
Hold promise: It smudges or flakes on you? Full refund.
Removal promise: It won't come off for you with warm water? Full refund.

How can we afford this? Because every ingredient in this formula was built for exactly these three promises, over two years. We give them because we'll almost never need them.

No photos, no forms, no debate.

The questions on your mind right now.

Here are the most common ones, so you can make a confident decision today.

That's what the two plant-based film formers are for. Pullulan and galactoarabinan build a hold that survives the office, a summer day and a long evening without flaking or traveling. The difference from a classic mascara lies underneath: the film stays flexible, and so does your lash.

Panda eyes happen when a mascara flakes or smudges, and both are caused by skin oils, eye care products and friction. That's why “waterproof” never solved the problem for you either. Our blossom film is built for exactly this case: it wraps around the lash and stays there instead of migrating over the course of the day. And should it still fail to manage that on you, the hold promise applies, no debate.

That transfer happens when fresh mascara sits too thickly on the lash and the lid sweeps over it as you blink. Two things work together here: the precise brush doesn't come out of the tube overloaded, so you apply thin, buildable coats instead of one thick one. And the blossom film stays on the lash instead of rubbing off on the lid. With strongly hooded eyes, it also helps to let the first coat set for a moment. If it still travels on you, the guarantee applies.

The blossom film only opens when two things come together: warm water and gentle pressure. Tears alone, a rain shower or a tearjerker of a movie won't dissolve it. The one thing that matters is not to rub hard afterwards, because rubbing plus moisture is the same combination you use to take it off deliberately at night. Dab instead of wiping, and it stays put. And if your eyes prove too much for it after all: guarantee.

The formula is deliberately built mild: free from silicones, PEGs, parabens and mineral oils, with a mild food-grade preservative system. You still won't read a promise like “guaranteed compatible” from us, because eyes differ. If you're sensitive: ease into it, and if it doesn't suit you, you get your money back.

98% of the ingredients are of natural origin according to ISO 16128, the international standard for this claim. The rest includes, among other things, the mineral black pigments. You'll find the complete ingredient list on the product page, including the first line — you now know why we're so fond of it.

The lash & brow treatment is your night program: an invisible serum with a fine fiber brush that cares for lashes and brows overnight. The Miracle Mascara is the day program: color, curl and care in one. Together they add up to exactly what the name promises: lashes someone is looking after around the clock.

For hygiene reasons, an opened mascara should be replaced after about six months; that goes for every brand. Most big tubes end up in the trash half full and dried out. 8.4 ml is sized so you actually finish it in that time. Used up fresh instead of thrown away expensive.

Because a product you hold in your hand every day is allowed to feel like it. Aluminum is light, sturdy and stays beautiful, even after months in a handbag. Inside are components with a share of recycled plastic. And honestly: it looks rather good on your bathroom shelf.

You can. From Saturday, August 1, the regular price of €28 per tube applies, without the packs and without the lash & brow treatment as a gift. Whether anything ships right away after that, we can't promise: the first batch is limited. If you're going to test it anyway, this is the cheapest moment there will be.

A customer applying the Miracle Mascara in front of the mirror
You're still here

In the end, you now have two options.

Option one: You close this page and do your lashes tomorrow morning like always. Two coats, three coats. At 3 pm the glance into the phone camera, the cotton swab. At night the pad, the rubbing, the two or three little hairs. Everything stays as it is, and in a year your lashes will be where this cycle leads them.

Option two: You give it a try. You lock in the first-batch launch price, wear it for a few weeks and let your cotton pad decide. The risk sits entirely with us, for up to twelve months.

A year from now, you'll know which option was the right one.

Once more, calmly

You don't have to scroll back. Here are the packages again.

The bigger the package, the longer the risk sits with us — up to twelve months. And only until Friday night, July 31, while the first batch lasts:

Wear the Miracle Mascara through your actual days. Watch the hold in the afternoon, the evening without rubbing, and at some point, your cotton pad.

Up to 12 months money-back guarantee

Even opened, even used, even almost empty. Send us an email and we'll refund the purchase price. No forms, no questions asked. 3-Pack: 3 months · 6-Pack: 6 months · 6+6: 12 months · single tube: 60 days.

P.S.: The launch packages end Friday night, July 31. In our last three launches, the first run sold out before the Friday. If you want to test it, better not to wait until the last day.

P.P.S.: The 6+6 pack is deliberately made for sharing. Gift six, keep six: mother, sister, daughters, best friend. You know the women who live this cycle at the cotton pad every night, without knowing why.

P.P.P.S.: Still on the fence? Take your makeup off tonight the way you always do and look at the cotton pad. After that, you'll know whether this page is about you.
